Like the basketball version of March Madness, we’ve been watching an elite group of brands compete for the top spot. All of the packages in our bracket are excellent; they rise above the pack and dominate their respective categories.
But this series is about determining the best of the best. Using our Win At-Shelf Framework™, we analyzed each matchup to see which brand moved the needle on stopping power, shopability, and brand equity. Here is how the tournament played out:

The Opening Round
- Wiley Wallaby vs. Olly: Both brands bring strong premiumness and simplicity. However, Olly takes the win by bringing a truly unique structure to a category that often lacks it.
- Gin & Juice vs. Spindrift: Gin & Juice hits on nostalgia and “irrational want” with that parental advisory warning. But Spindrift is a masterclass in simplicity; its focus on real fruit sets it up for long-term success.
- Kraft Mac & Cheese vs. Artesano: Kraft successfully modernized a classic without losing shopability. But Artesano gets the nod for leveraging a genius tactic: using muted materials to cue “premium” in a sea of sameness.
- Mio vs. Eggo: Eggo is a pro at driving taste appeal and efficient navigation. This was a tough one, but Mio wins because of its personality and novel structure that helps it stand out while keeping the category together.
The Final Four
- Olly vs. Spindrift: Both brands are category innovators. The edge goes to Olly for succeeding in a high-stakes, super-challenging category.
- Artesano vs. Mio: Artesano moves on to the finals because it drives consumer understanding and desire more efficiently than almost anyone else on the shelf.

The Finalists: Olly vs. Artesano
This was the ultimate showdown of shelf strategy. While Artesano wins within its category environment, Olly is our March Madness Champion.
Why Olly took the trophy: Their innovation was so effective that it didn’t just win the matchup, it revolutionized the entire category. They changed the “rules” of what supplement packaging could look like, proving that when you win at the shelf, you change the game entirely.
